    10 Round Sten Gun Magazine?

Having recently seen an example of a shorter Sten Gun Magazine, 10 round I believe, I am interested to know if this is a modern conversion, fantasy or something that could date back to WW2. The Magazine was fitted to a Mk 11 Sten, however it also had a Silencer, if all authentic I think it should be marked-stamped Mk 11 S. The inference was that this Sten was SOE/Covert Warfare use and that the Magazine was also made for that purpose. Will appreciate any comments and information. Regards, Clive.

Its quite possible that it was made for the silenced version of the Sten where compactness was the goal -it would be a rare item if indeed it was actually used during the war.

A lot of 10 rounders were made by Stembridge Gun Rentals (if my memory serves me right) for the Imperial Blasters of the Star Wars movies. Even though the Imperial Blaster is Sterling based, Sten mags will fit unmodified, and again if memory serves me they (Stembridge) used the much more cheaply available Sten mags for the much of the 10 round conversions.

Many thanks for the comments, the Star Wars connection was unexpected. As yet I have found no evidence, either text or images, that supports the use of a shortened 10 round magazine during WW2. It is possible though that a clandestine organization could have had some made, as mentioned. Regards, Clive.

You might have to look to Isreal for an answer. I see a star of David on it.
