This is a Portuguese contract K98 manufactured in 1941. It's fitted with a grenade launcher and sight purchased from a nice chap here on WAF.
Came complete with minty leather carry case and tool it's typically wonderfully German engineered (over engineered). The soldiers didn't like the sight, and I can see why. Too complex. Much like the M79 and M203 modern launchers, the troopies just fired the first round and adjusted according to point of impact. They later binned the sight and issued instructions on setting range using the rear sight raised and levelled with the foresight - also too damn complex for Grunts...
The launcher clamps onto the barrel with no drama (best to remove the cleaning rod first), and the sight sits snugly up against the rear sight mount and is secured with a sprung sheet metal leaf and knurled knob.
