    M1 Garand National Match

I thought I'd share pictures of this M1 garand National Match I just picked. It came with paperwork from DCM and an NOS spare National Match barrel. I got this from the son of the orginal owner. He said this thing rarely saw daylight in the last 50 years or so!

My God, that's just beautiful, good sir! The only thing you need now is a DCM 1911A1 to go alongside it to relive the good days.

                  Nice Find!

Thanks! I had to sell most of my gun collection last year to fund my new house. Now that I'm rebuilding my collection I seem to be finding better examples than what I had before so it's working out good!

That was the variation before they went to the hooded rear sight with the 1/2 minute adjustment. On your sight the windage is 1/2 minute but the elevation is one minute. The hooded rear sight's aperture was off center and could be rotated 180 degrees to obtain 1/2 minute of elevation. Your NM is the 1961 variation, as they went to the hooded rear sight in 1962.

My NM is also the 1961 variation.
