    MG- 81 z machine gun

    Hi folks,

I wonder if any of you guys could possibly help me here? I am not a firearms collector and today I have been offered in a trade a MG- 81 z twin barreled machine gun that has been de-activated and I do not have a clue what something like this is worth in todays market? So if anyone can help me here with a value of such a thing it would be very much appreciated!

    Cheers,

    Rkhunter

You want find this gun very often and compared to a Mg42 its a way more expensive. I can remeber that on egun there was a grund dug with missing parts for around 2000E

      Hello,

Are you talking about the one that was for sale at d&b militaria recently? It was listed on their website for £6,500 if i remember right, but that is a far too high in my opinion. I think about half to three quarters of that is more realistic. Whether it actually sold for that, i doubt it. Do you have pictures of it? They are indeed very rare, what you are trading for it?

D & B Militaria is way over priced. I would say around £2500 if strippable, in excellent condition, and with UK de-act marks. To be honest it's worth more in Germany if you are prepared to ship it out there.

        Regards Craig.

Hi, I am still working on a deal for it, the guy that has it is a nightmare to deal with so I have to be slow and diplomatic or he will close the door on me! He will not allow me to take any pics of it. if I get it I will post up some pics!

O.K. guys I need some expert opinions here. From what I have reaserched myself regarding this machine gun they are super rare. What do you think one in very good condition, is stripable with U.K. de-act cert would bring on todays market? I am very close to doing a deal for this MG-81z but I do not want to pay too much for it! Thanks for any help!
