I picked these up at a local gun show last week and was wondering if the magazines were exchanged out for AR mags. The single magazine box that I got had a M-16 magazine in it which is why I am wondering. I realize that the first M-16s were actually named the AR-15 Model 614 (I used to have one after all!) but by 1969 I would expect all of the magazines to be marked M-16. What say you?

Interesting. The NSN's are the same, maybe by 1969 the nomenclature for the mags was fairly interchangeable so that it was common to still see them stamped either way? Just a guess.WAF LIFE COACHComment

most (all?)m-16's i have seen are marked ar-15, not sure mags would be any different... i checked out biggerhammer's ar 15 mag faq, no real answer.Comment
