deactivated gun ban in the UK?

well i wonder how long it will be before deactivated guns are banned totally in the UK, having seen the news tonight about a father and son who have just been found guilty of selling deactivated guns to organised crime members with kits and tools to convert them to firing examples , and that fact that these guns have been used in at least 3 murders going back 10 years that they know off, Now the police are asking for a total ban on these type of weapons, we all know what has happened in the past over here his assault rifles, hand guns one major incident then they are banned full stop and in reality only penalising those that held the firearms legally!!!!!!!

so I wonder how long it will be!!!!!!!!!
    cheers,

        Move here!

        Move here and buy guns!

Here's how you do it, fly to Mexico and head north.... Once you hit the Rio Grande start swimming, as you swim try to pick up some Spanish from fellow swimmers.

Head to the nearest Burger king or other fast food outlet and get employment.
Don't forget to go by the DMV and get your driving license ( the test booklets are in spanish and it only cost $21.00 ).

If you choose to have a family medical ins. is not needed as the tax paying public will gladly pick up the tab, so feel free to have 3 or 4 kids. ( Education is free also )

Once you have done this it won't be long for the "new programs" being developed and you will have it made.

And of course "who would deny" you the right to keep arms, our rights are for all in this Country.

But please be advised "Legal" immigration is much more difficult for our friends in Europe... so learn to swim please!

I can tell you now that giving out advice about how to survive here is a dangerous thing to do. My grandmas people did the same thing to a handful of anglo Europeans they took pity on in the 1600's and now the country is infested with them.

                UK Ban.

In all seriousness its going to come.
Those two goons the father and son act.....they deserve everything that's coming to them. Not only was the son physically disabled ...they were both mentally disable by greed and a comple lack of morals.

                The ban will surely follow.
I have been toying with the idea of buying a dect. or two but now will shelve the intention until I see what way the law is going to go.
Doubtless the compensation given for anything taken away to be smelted will be the going rate for the pieces surrendered

The loosers will as ever be the people who live within the law......the criminal will always find a supplier.
On the other hand the relatives of the people murdered will say they are the loosers and not without good cause.
Then again....we have a society were murder is almost worth it......a life sentence does not mean life.

I have full and complete sympathy for the victims and relatives of those who have lost their lives to the criminal trade of these two twisted bastards.....but can't help but thibk that there are going to be other loosers and winners.
The loosers being the collectors and the winners being the present goverment who will have to be seen to be " strong on crime" , not so good on university education and keeping promises on other fronts are they.

Yeh right there will be no compensation they will make them illegal and Give you a time period to hand them in, then if you are found with them after that you will end up in prison, and yes president blair will come out with more bull while patting himself on his back saying what a good guy he is, with his little hands flailing about like a puppet, what a tosser!

Gary I agree completely with what you say ...
Our goverment came into office with promises and great ideas.......not wishing to be political but I am rather sick of their bull and spin which amounts to very little when you strip away the surface and look at the content.
Its easy to implement this type of ban and reap the brownie points that go with it...so Tony can beat his chest at the despatch box as he says what a bloody good job they are doing.

If a ban does come it will have huge implications for major shows as well as the private collector.
I was going go of reither a good example MG34 , P38 or rifle but until we see what 's going to happen its like throwing good money after bad.

If there is a cheap point to be made or an extra % point in the law and order poll to be made short term gain is all that matters.

Bottom line is crime does seem to pay and for major crime the law and legal system is weak and ineffective.......one wonders how many initatives are driven by the desire to create revenue rather than deter crime ?
They worry more about how much they can make via parking fines , road tax. , or by speed cameras than they do about major issues like crimes against the elderly , theft , drugs and murders.

Could get very annoyed but feel we have in office a parcel of tits and a weak opposition
Ever get a straight answer from Blair...its a bit like

Unfortunately it's the same in my country. You can almost speculate in murder. A lifetime sentence often means 10-14 years and hardly ever "lifetime". Completely unacceptable Imagine meeting your loved one's murderer on the street 10 years after.... Justice? (Sorry offtopic, but I had to get it out).

Regarding the ban I must add to your worries I'm sorry. A ban which will only affect law abiding people is unfortunately the classic move from today's politicians every time some minority of non law abiding people do something illegal (mostly regarding weapons).

I hope things work out for you brits anyway.

I too saw the news. If the Govt think I am going to hand over my deacs which inc a MG34 and 42 they can F***off. I've had a skinful of these clowns - they even sent me and thousands of others to Iraq on spurious reasons and they repeatedly lie through their teeth and treat everyone with arrogance and contempt. I'm going out to buy the few ones that I still want for my collection while I can.

                          Hi all,
Sadly this is just the final stage in long ongoing campaign to ban the ownership of deactivated weapons. It is not mere coincidence that there has been a stream of crime related stories in the print and televised media regarding converted air weapons (particularly those of the "Brocock" firm),replica weapons of the "Airsoft" variety, and re-activated firearms. As has been mentioned earlier it provides maximum headlines for minimum effort in the quest for being seen to be "Tough" on crime, and deals with not a single illegal firearm on Britains streets.
I fear an outright ban is indeed coming.....

                          Patrick.

Off Topic / Policy of Uk Goverment.

I don't think its off topic to say that sentences are too soft and the law abiding collector will suffer at the hands of a Goverment who are becoming increasingly discredited and a prime Minister who will spin a web of half truths and double dealing to get what he wants.
The Home Sec. is not too far behind and any ban will not accomadate collectors.
What the hell did we do to deserve the political leaders we have today ?
Certainly we should all judge their actions and vote acordingly.

Don't ask tony Blair....he has trouble with saying 45 minutes.....a few months back he said it quite a bit...today....he chokes on it !!!
