Digging up a two year old thread, sorry, but researching the T-rifle.
Absolutely spectacular T-Gewehr and very nice pics, too.

    Thanks for posting.

    Pit.

        13mm ammo

Great item. I am hoping to buy one so I am now looking for the ammunition. I suppose there is only one type of round?

                Small bits of info.

As my efforts to find the 13 mm ammo continue it seems every WWI collector has a T Gewehr! However just to add some interest there are actually 2 types of AT rifle. The first model was according to those who know had a much shorter barrel and about 300 or so were made. None are known to exist today. They I guess must have been felt to be inefficient so the longer barrel was then produced. Also an answer to my own earlier question on ammunition there was a training round produced too - quite a rare piece of ordnance!

                  Mark,

The book mentioned at the beginning of the thread, "Das Tankgewehr M 1918" by Wolfgang Kern, covers the early "Kurz" version of the T-Gewehr and documents several surviving examples in collections both here in the U.S. and in Europe (with photos).

BTW: Herr Kern's book is the only publication that I am aware of that is focused on the study of the T-Gewehr. If anyone is aware of other books please let me know, as I would like to obtain copies of any other materials that may be available.

Oh and don't forget the version with a Scope! How cool is that...

After I buy one, I am going to have to get someone to make brass for me. I figure I can turn bullets but the brass, someone really needs to make a run of it here in the US.

BUT not until I buy one as the price will go up 50% once they do. Just like the Sturmgewehrs...

How expensive live ammunition for this caliber is ?

I guess there is not big stocks of ammunition left anymore.

I have one inert round and even it was quite expensive...

I've never seen any live rounds for sale just inert yes they've always been collectible seemed to have dried up too.

Very nice the soldiers would pick them up as war trophies.
