    Karabiner98k Feeding problem

Ok so I bought this Mauser some of you have seen it in the Go ahead shun me I bought a Mitchells Mauser. Well heres a problem I started having as of lately. Every once and a while when shooting when operating the bolt, the bolt doesnt close, and just pushes the round into the chamber and gets stuck, then I have to push the round out of the gun. I took a picture of the right feed rail there is a v shaped cut in it. I am wondering if this has something to do with it, if so is it something I can fix on my own, or take it to a gunsmith. Anyways heres the pictures.

Sounds like the extractor does not catch the casing correctly and then the bolt want close. On the pic i cannot see anything which would concern me. I would take another bolt to see if this kind of jam is still occuring.
Maybe this way you can figure out whats the reason ...

As Ostmark said, I think the problem come from the extractor.
I already heard about that, the shape of the extractor is wrong.
Compare your shape with this pics of mine.

If actually you see a difference you just have to correct the edge
with a dremel or another tool

        Hello,
like Ostmark and AM say, your K98 has probably a problem with the extractor. Pay attention during ammo load operation: use the magazine and don't put ammo directly into chamber. K98 extractor is without a spring (instead of Garand and so on), so if you put ammo directly into chamber, you force the extractor.
For me the V shape on feeding rail doesn't matter.
Another possible cause can be a headspace problem.

        Regards
        brus

I learned that the hard way, and ended up getting a round stuck in the chamber. But I got it out after about an hour of wasted shooting time.

Well I thought the same thing but I shoot yugo out of mine. Maybe I should try Romanian.

I have shot Romanian surplus, laquered steel cased ammo from -70´s and -80´s.
Maybe 5-10% have extraction problems because of little cracks on shoulder of case when fired. This is perhaps because of internal corrosion of the case.

Just a warning to keep shooting glasses on!!! (like always of course!)

Otherwise, quite good and cheap(from Finnish perspective) ammo in my opinion.

                  Feeding problem?

My Bnz k-98 1941 will not fire YUGO ammo! it seems like the Primer is set to far into the caseing. ? My rifle will fire Romanian and Real German ammo.
