    sniper scope case?

I acquired this from an antique store this weekend. They had it listed as an army sniper scope case. Being mostly a British or Canadian badge collector I don't know much about this. However it looked good and has a rock island arsenal markiing so I picked it up on a chance. Did I get taken or did I do good?

Looks like a case for a WW1 Warner & Swasey scope to me.

That's what it is alright. It's a late-issue scope case for the model 1913 Warner & Swasey "Musket sight". One of the US- made sniper scopes used during ww1. Some were furnished to the Canadian gov't. The pouch on the front indicates late-issue, it is there to hold a combo tool. Rock Island Arsenal markings are correct on this case. I would say very hard to find with the shoulder strap. Value depends on finding the person who needs one.
