I was looking at a walther pp at a gun show and it was being sold as a wartime pistol. in exclent condtion and at 600 with holster at first I thought it was a good buy. when I inspected the piece it had 2 waffen stamps on the left frame and slide, no code for known makers but marked with the walther logo and license info. and caliber, the right side of the frame had an eagle with the n [nitro mark under the eagle] on the barrel breach and the frame just below the barrel mark , as far a I understood the millitary guns would not have the nitro for comercial sale on them. or could this be a private purchase piece? if so why would it have the waffen stamps on it? I did not think the two markes would be on the same piece. the holster had no markes on it but was being sold as original with the gun and the name and outfit of the owner was scrached into the back, this was very odd as the scratches were not looking very old, after 60+ years you would think that the scratches would be brown and not very light in color, any opinions appreciated.

I hate to say this, but you probably just missed out on a good deal!
German pistol manufactures always marked thier pistols with the commercial marks "eagle/N". This is because they didn't know exactly which pistols were going to accepted by the German army. Once accepted by the army it recieved an accptance proof marking, in the case of your PP, "eagle/359". Usually the markings were done on the opposite side of the pistol that the commercial marking were on.
Here is a pic of a Mauser HSc. Notice the military proof mark on the left side of the trigger guard "eagle/655".Attached Files

Well,
Not having seen it, or knowing any information about it, I can only give a very rough ballpark estimate. A wartime military proof marked (eagle/359) Walther PP, all matching, non-import, in 90% condition or better would fetch at least $600+ alone. I have seen these that are 95% or better sell for over $800 now!
As for the holster, again, I don't know anything about it, so price could vary widely from $50-$150. Depending on if it is commercial marked, military proof marked, or police marked, also maker, and/or dates would all affect the value of it.
