I don't think much of the markings. The Stolla/Wien markings are orignal......probably post war? The ac, date and ges. gesh. have been added recently.

This is not a wartime P38 holster. Looks like a post war Austrian Police holster for a Browning Hi-power?

Yep, looks like somebody thought that "ac" and a date on a pistol would mean the same thing on a holster!!

Never seen one marked like that. Looks like someone wanted a "matched set", pistol/holster combo. Problem is that they didn't know what the marks mean!

I got the holster for $10 so I'm not out much for it.
the P38 that I bought with it fits great.

              thanks for the feed back

it is possible that the holster was a austrian police holster, i just recently picked up a nice p-38 for my boys to shoot, it is a cyq spreewerke built in 1943, it has the spreewerke asterick, on it plus BH, which means it was a wehrmarch firearm, but it is also stamped with the austrian eagle, it still retains all the german inspectors marks waffen eagle 88, and the eagle and swatstica, the holster is a stolla wien and inside the side flap marked in ink are markings 1953, a circle with a d inside and a H over an R. i picked the gun and holster with a spare clip that came with it for $450.00. apparently these guns were given to the austrian police by the french and british to maintain peace at the wars end
