    Holster question

    Hi all

I've been offered this holster , but I know next to nothing about them. Was told it's a Luger holster dated 41. Is it a good one and if yes, what would be the fair price for it ?

They all look good to me, the holster has some cuts on the back, probably to hold a cleaning rod,but I have never seen it in this configuration before.
The mags are good and are the machined type,Haenel made if I am not wrong, and they are expensive.
As for the correct prices I cannot help, but I would say 200-250 euros for the holster and 150 euros each mag
Other may tell you something more exact

It is necessary to see the inside of the holster to determine further condition. If there are no surprises there this holster would bring $175 USD or so in the USA. It is a little beyond what I consider to be a desirable collector piece. The cleaning rod cuts in the back kill it for me.
It also looks like it has a pretty good mold growth getting started. The thread is quite worn in places.
This is not a holster I would like to add to my collection. There are many more out there in much better condition, depending on the asking price of course! IMO This holster is worth $125 USD. A low end beginner piece.

The magazines are very desirable. Perhaps $150-200 USD here depending on the bottom markings..If Krieghoff could go to $500 USD pretty fast?

              Thanks for reply , Jerry
Do you think you could post the pix of the Krieghoff markings? What does fxo stand for?

fxo was the maker code for C.G. Haenel of Suhl.

Gary, They are not likely to be Krieghoff's! They will be an early Spread down wing eagle with a 2 below at it's feet. Some had the same Eagle with a circle on it's chest with an L in the circle.
                  Very distinctive.
These are likely Wafenamt marked with an Eagle 63 or some such.

I bring these up to show that without a good look inside or on the bottom you do not really know exactly what you are looking at.

Filip, The new photo's bring nothing new to the table. They are standard. What you need to see is the BOTTOM of the magazine pull where the serial # is to be found.

                          Hi Jerry,

I never thought these were Krieghoffs. I have two Krieghoff and the mags have a better finish than these do. This finish looks more mid war to me.

                          Cheers

I don't think those are Krieghoff, I even doubt those would be anyhow marked at the bottom, apart maybe from the serial number, which I also very much doubt

Gary, My apologies! I meant to tell Filip this...I mixed names and yours came up..I think my main effort was to alert those that much information can be found. You just have to look in the right place.
I often get this with holsters. The back and the inside can be just as important as the front.
You are certainly correct. These are likely late war . Not the finish of a Krieghoff or Mauser Banner!
