K98 Sniper Rifle Opinions?

I am posting this K98 sniper rifle on behave of my neighbor and new forum member SS Maybee. I took the pictures in kind of a hurry, but any opinions good or bad would be greatly appreciated.

This may be a dumb question, but why does it have a Weimar proof if it was made in 1944?

Could you add a close-up of the dovetailed rail machined on the rifle to which the ZF41 scope attaches. The rifle appears to be a very nice, matched 98K - Z.F.41 which was generally not issued to trained snipers, but was used by average riflemen as a shooting aid.

i cant see any Weimar proof mark...........
