    .38 Colt M1911A1

Hi Guys, yesterday I got to handle a .38 Colt M1911A1. First time I had seen one of these. I have done a search, but not really come up with much info.

How rare are these? Numbers produced, and (sorry to have to ask ) what is a rough estimate on value?

    Cheers, Ade.

Are you sure it's not a .38 Super? These are actually quite common over here and are very popular in Mexico since they cannot own guns chambered in military calibers.

Hi Gene, sorry it could well be? This particular gun is certainly pre 1945 and was carried by a member of the British special forces.

      Cheers, Ade.

in mexico the drug rackets are lugging around some of the best military hardware that can be found in the hemisphere. (in small arms)
