    Czech made 7.62mm x 39mm M43 round colour codes?

Hi Guys, what does a black and green tip signify on one of these rounds? Headstamp is "55 bxn".

    Cheers, Ade.

The Czech used the Russian colour codes for their rounds after about 1952 and the Russian Black/Green tip is for 'reduced velocity ball'...as used in silenced weapons...apparently...

Info comes from the 'Official Guide to Small Caliber Ammunition Idendification'...handy little book it is...

          Mistake

Hi Guys, I need your help again.

I picked up the cartridges in question. However, I have a problem. The case length is 45mm and not 39mm so they are not what I originally thought.

To recap, the cases are steel, with what appears to be a 7.62mm bullet, headstamps are as noted earlier. So what are they?????

          Cheers, Ade.

Thanks Gary. I had read about the VZ52 using a different round than the conventional Soviet 7.62mm but did not have any other info on sizes. I hope I did not waste 50p on them?

              Cheers, Ade.

                ade ,
this is the rifle, the rounds correct term for the ammo is 7.62 x 45 mm M52 they used this type of ammo until 1957, when russian pressure made them adopt the 7.62 x 39 mm M43 round,
the rifles were re chambered and are then known as the vz52/57

                below is the vz52
