MG belt for?

Hi guys I need a Little help on this MG belt. My guess would be that it is for the MG34 but am I correct?

Hi Lassi,

No, it is not for either the Mg34 or 42. It looks like it is a replacement belt(in steel instead of cloth) for the Maxim '08 to me. I have not seen one like it before. The 34 and 42 use a belt with one side open so the bolt can strip a round from the belt and feed it into the chamber. The Maxim on the other hand doesn't work the same way.

Gary, You are correct is is for the 08 or the O8/15 with special feed block for metalic belts...BILL

Is it rare and what would the value be of a belt like this? Was thinking of trading or sell it for MG34 stuff.

Most 08 & 08/15 Shooters over here usually use the Turkish metalic belts or the Swiss steel Belts... The Turkish belts are around 20 $ for a 250 round belt... Your belt would be considered a accessory for the 08 series of weapons and possibly 75 to 100$ US... BILL
