    Found at my own fields

    Hello,
    I found some cadriges at my own fields, I think these are Cal. 50. These are market SM 43, what does that mean?

    I yust saw this heavy M G for sale: http://www.militaria321.com

    I think my cadriges were used for this M G type?

    =================================

    Hello again, you are right, my mistake: It is SL 43, what does that mean?

    That MG is indeed a .50 caliber that came out of an airplane, likely a fighter. I don't know what SM stands for but it is the manufacturing plant that made the ammo, and of course 43 is the year.

        There is no SM that I can find for U.S. cartridge makers during WWII. Are you sure it's not LM?
