Horstator is a fairly scarce Hörster mark, nicebatinet with the stag grips. Not a Polizei bayonet but a standard KS98 with stag option.

The KS98 hilt design a holdover from WWI, at least some period catalogs treated all of the hilt patterns for dress bayonets as Extra-Seitengewehre (private purchase bayonets). The stag grips an extra cost option. That said, some German Police were issued a Behörden version of the standard S.84/98 German service bayonet. But based on the overall numbers seen the one here was in all probability acquired by somebody in the Wehrmacht to wear off duty. FP
