Presentation Standard Point? Need some help

I am a new member of the Forum, and thought perhaps some participants could help me with information on the Hermann Goering presentation standard point (I'm afraid I don't know exactly what to call it). The point is 14 inches in length, and was made by Eickhorn, with a presentation from Goering to the German Jagtschutzvereins. I know this was a major enthusiasm with Goering, but what's the significance of the piece? Thanks!

    Welcome JThibaut!

    It's a boar hunting spearhead.

It's missing the stag or metal crossbar that was tied to it that limited the depth of the thrust.

Nice piece of Hunting Asscociation memeorabilia.

Can we have some clear close up pictures of this?

    Thanks!

    Tony

Before I built a 6 foot wall around my house, I had run-ins with javelina almost nightly. These wild pigs go up to about 125 pounds and will tear up a dog in seconds, with their tusks. I would love to hunt one with a spear, but I would love to have that example in my collection. Wunderbar!!!!!!!!

Well, this spear point would do the job...

Interesting, so we have a real Third Reich "Pig Sticker".

                      Hunting Spear

I had one of these complete for several years. Hard to display and transport, but Houston Coats wanted it more than I did and I sold it to him a couple of years ago. Very hard to find in the US.

Is this etched example a known item in collector circles? This is the first of its type I have seen. Thanks for the education, in advance.

By the way, "J", welcome to the Forum.

It's always nice to have a published histroian within the ranks, as well as just an all-around swell person!
