Is there any other flaws that you guys are seeing, other than the fact that the NSKK

Musterschütz Korpsfuhrüng is missing ? Just asking !

          Danke

There are serious flaws with the chain. The clip is wrong, the links have round holes in the ends instead of D holes as originals besides the missing proof (which can be missing on some early originals).

What Ron said, if I'm not mistaken it's a fairly old school fake. FP

                  Hello
Thank you for yours comments .The metal ring has been add after war to the attach dagger ; This dagger comes from a batch of a veteran. This lot comes directly from the family ( i don't pay for this dagger ) and I can not believe that the chain is a copy. Certainly there is no marking but this chain and the sheath seem perfectly authentic. Were there models with unmarked chains? Thank you for your help here anothers pics

Also, the fit of the lower crossguard to the blade and the manner in which the lower crossguard meets the upper scabbard fitting is also way off.

Can't even begin to tell you how many times I have bought a "group" of items that "dad" brought back from the war and some of the items that the family swore were items "dad" brought back were actually items "dad" purchased after the war because he thought it would look neat with the items he had brought back.

Direct from a veteran or their family is worth exactly NOTHING as far as validating originality.

One of the funniest and stupidest things I see in adds is

"direct out of the woodwork" or some other pablum like that. Like that means anything other than usually " been ignored and left to rust for the last 50 years"

                              Hello
indeed you are right family provenances do not prove the authenticity of the object. In this particular case for this dagger, I know perfectly the family provenance and I am surprised surprised negative comments about the chain of this dagger. I thank you all for your comments and respect them. But I am still very surprised given the provenance and homogeneity of this dagger
                              thank you
                              Mathieu
