NSKK,stamp marks?

Hello, I have an NSKK maker marked "AESCULAP" gau marked Sw (sudwest) on the crossguard,but stamped on the underneath of the crossguardon either side of the blade are some s's any idea as to what they are for, or what they signify?

The trademark "Aesculap" is actually a trade name for the company of Jetter und Schere - they specialised in making surgical blades, scalpels, scissors, forceps, and other things which would make your eyes water!

Unable to determine the provenance of the small "SS" under the crossguard. It could be a factory inspection mark, although I think this is unlikely - as they tended to be allocated a number rather than acceptance of their own personal initials (after all, there could be some one in the factory with the same initials). It might be the simple initials of the original owner - this I feel is more probable.
