Hello again to this great forum. I have received this dagger and am a little disappointed. The blade, while attractive, has overall light pitting that has been polished. The blade looks better than my bad photos but it still could be somewhat better. Also, I wondered if the wire might be replaced and how much the hairline cracks in the grip, as well as the broken part of the grip which is hidden by the ferrule, hurts the value.
If I keep this it will cost me $500; I feel I can live with the problems if it is a bargain price (and of course provided that the dagger is original). I also would like to know what the numbers on the blade tang mean and whether or not the maker is known. Please let me know what you think. Sorry for the bad photos; I can take new photos of anything you need to look at more closely. Thanks,
Harvey
