    1890 Navel dagger

    Hi,
Please excuse me if I have put the wrong model number but never really sure which is which.
Here direct from the woodwork is something I could not resist ,a early very long naval dirk with a glorious undamaged politically incorrect grip? the whole dagger is in uncleaned and not that great a condition ,typical dints to the scabbard.
The blade is dark with etched panels ,not sure is they are normal ones or special inscriptions. The reason I really like it is the name to the scabbard Albrecht at first I thought that it was a Surname? But now I'm not sure.
What makes me think it's a First name is the letter L on the ricasso initially thinking it was a makers mark I realized that it is not stamped nor etched, but is infarct hand engraved something imo thats how a monogram would be?

In my internet search I found another dagger to a Albrecht Prince zu Schaumburg-Lippe who was also a navel officer born in 1869 so the correct time period?

Any body else have and ideas.

The name looks like Albrecht, probably a surname ,unfortunally no good visible the last letter, some finger prints already in messing body of scabbard. It would be good deciphere the blade panel, when is not typical for Marine dagger? b.r.Andy

Its very difficult to make out but the blade has a sailing ship at the bottom next to the ricasso, then a long ribbon which has a slogan that may read - Festen Muths in Sturm und Gefahr (Steadfast courage in storm and peril) which was a common slogan of the time, I cant make out the pattern at the end of the blade but think its floral.

              Best Russ.
