    SS dagger for review

This one was offered to me. Could it be an original one?..
Comes from an old 70's - '80's collection

Yes, this is an original transitional, so, mid period made dagger by Eickhorn.
But it's not going to be easy to find the correct type of SS button to restore it.

I would stay away from this piece! The blade is ok, but look at this wooden handle.
It doesn't match these guards in any way.

Hmmm, I am not convinced yet and I don't to give up this dagger yet. Rheingold's opinion can't be taken lightly but I think that much better pictures in the first place would give a better view and answer.

Got the dagger together with some other stuff.
After close inspection my opinion is that it is an original one, and not build together.
Obviously the dagger got a massive hit on top of the grip. It is clearly visible that the top element is out of shape. This explains why some wooden parts were broken and the SS button is missing. So Imo opinion an honest original but sadly damaged SS dagger.

                      I agree.
It's the worst fit I have seen for a Eickhorn transitional SS dagger.

Strange conclusion. If build together, how to explain the impact at the back end and the damage it caused to the wooden grip.
It makes no sence to me, but okay if the experts say it is build together I will be so...
So it was first build together (by a collectore) and then damaged (by purpose) 🤔
So some parts are fake I pressume?
