A friend gave me this Hitlerjugend Knife. Modified post war. But I don't know if it is original because I don't know anything about these knife. Can you telle me if goud or fake?

This is not an early, but a mid period HJ-knife, most likely 1937 production: if early it would have no ricasso.

Condition is not the best: that steel finger guard did not break off (unlike the late alloy based ones), so someone must have removed it on purpose.

Agreeing with the above I've seen some folks in collecting, and even recently, who think that the zinc alloy fitted blades (no one in this discussion and not specifically HJ) are considered to be "mid" period. I found a partial answer to my question. RZM specs still called for an iron based hilt in 1938. FP
