Vet Find K98 Cof44 Eickhorn X Code Pair

Estate Fresh lot of 2 close serial number cof44 bayonets with x codes, anyone know if this was near the tail end of production for the factory?
One is marked 6125 X and the other is 6154 X both look unused tho sadly one has a ding to the tip.

I think they were the very last ones produced by cof !!!!

Congratulation on it, most probably bringbacks from one transportation Box, never used, in vorlast series letter X, the last known pieces are reported from early Y range. Should be oiled the scabbard to prevent rusting.b.r.Andy

I use paraffinum liquidum for my daggers (cheap and recommended by the Swedish Army Museum).

Great bayonets. Congratulations.

I use high quality silicone spray on my guns and edged weapons. Moisture is displaced and repelled, but the silicone does not attract dirt and dust.

Personally i would firstly clean with gun oil and soft lap the areas of rust beginning and dirt and later for long storage use the parafin, or other long period preservants. b.r.Andy
