What does it say on the reverse of the scabbard and blade? In regards to your "ff" question, initial run bayonets did not have letters on serial numbers 0001-9999. So number 10,000 would be 0001 with the letter "a" then 0001-9999 "b" and so on. Once the manufacturer went through the entire alphabet they would double up the letters example "aa". I'm too tired to do the math but yours is high serial number.

Also look on the spine, there should be a year of manufacture. Hope this helps.

      Hi guigui,
As far as I can recall riveted grips were only used by two maufacturers
Weyersberg Kirschbaum letter code cvl and Horster using letter code asw & later sgx. I don't believe cvl made riveted bayonets in the "ff" block but in 1944 asw riveted bayonets show up in the "ff" production block.

      Best regards,
      Len

Yes a grey ghost, only 44asw in ff range could be riveted.unfortunally someone reblued the piece on blade, which should be phosphated.b.r.Andy
