    Hi All, The owner is thinking of selling and im wondering if this is the real deal as ive never seen one in person before or had much to do with them, Any help would be appreciated.

      This is a totally fake SS blade. The Herder logo is totally wrong.
      The company of Herder was in Solingen. Not in Berlin.
      There's nothing genuine on this blade!!! Stay away from it.
      Compare the picture of a genuine Herder logo.

          You got a picture of the grip... maybe from the whole dagger?

            Looks like a Spanish reproduction. They were notorious for using "Berlin" instead of "Solingen." Stay away from it.

              IMO if the maker's mark is obviously bad, that's all I need to see. There's no chance that a bad maker's mark could have been originally placed upon an otherwise good blade during the original period of manufacture, and it makes no difference what the grip or the crossguards or the scabbard look like.
