Hi Francisque,

Yes, it is "possible to identify the SS mann 18129" -- but it is not easy! I've checked for that number in Bernie Brulé's "The Key" and it is not present, which means that either the holder of that SS Membership Number was not an officer of the SS or that he became an officer during the war years when the ranks of the Waffen-SS inflated the SS membership records and publication of the names and numbers became overwhelming to accomplish. Our colleague, Ross Kelbaugh, specializes in researching SS numbers and names, and a number of WAF members have used his services in the past:

SS Mann No. 18 129 may be identifiable. His file would have to be pulled o confirm that the number on the initial identifying document is not a typo. It sometimes happens!
