    sword identification please....

I'm told this sword is WWI and appears to be for some sort of presentation. Would like other opinions and would be great to get an estimate of value as well in case I decide to sell it.

Common Bavarian Infantry sword, not a presentation, 95% of Bavarian swords have the "InTreue Fest" etch. Not a fast mover ,if your looking to sell.

Thanks guys...........using your response I now easily find loads of info on the web. one question.....I'll be "handing this down" to my grandson. is there anything I should do to it for long term storage? ie: lightly oil the blade, or handle or ????

ps: i'll be posting the other sword my dad brought back as well to see what I can learn about it.
