Opinions on personalized Gravity knife

Hi all picked this up today. Which was a lucky find here in australia as customs won't let them in to the country. Anyway I was told the vet picked this up at Normandy from a member of the 12th ss HJ. Which I thought was interesting as as far I know the 12th ss didn't have paratroopers? Anyway I just wanted to get some opinions on the story and the carving. Thanks all.

Needs repairing I know which I'm going to do soon I will ad pics when I complete repair. But what are the experts thoughts on this one?
