    luftwaffe bayonet portepee with a strange slide

    does anyone know what the 4 colour slide on this luftwaffe knot stand for?

    This is a Luftwwafe Faustriemen for a NCO. The first slide above the crown is correct. The other three are from other Faustriemen and do not belong there officially. Having said that I have seen some odd period NCO knot modifications. He MIGHT have put these on his knot to indicate prior service in other units... maybee.
