    Chained SS Dagger for Opinions

    Hello,

I have recently been offered this Chained SS dagger for purchase by a local dealer. Before I spend the money, I wanted to get more information about the dagger and opinions about it as well. Finally, what would be a fair price to pay for this dagger?

Thank you in advance for you help!

I forgot to mention that he is asking $9000 for the dagger.

              Thanks again!

IMO, thats a little high ($9000) for the condition.

Original but not a textbook example. The dagger is a nice model 33 Boker. The 36 model blade was unmarked.
The chain has a broken connector, typical. Hard to tell from the photo if the scabbard has been repainted.
I consider $5000 to $5500 to be a fair price.

Is there a roman numeral stamped on the reverse of lower cross guard ?

Hi David, I don't see one in the pictures and I don't recall seeing one when I handled it earlier today. Thanks for the reply's.

It is just the early( Böker ) blade in an late grip, this is also the reason why you don't see a roman numeral.

I wouldn't spend too much in it.

This is a parts dagger, and only worth what the parts would bring separately, IMO.

I agree also with the later style two screw center ramp its odd that the scabbard has a painted finish. The ramp fit could be better as well.
