M36 chained SS dagger

Please have a look on this M36 SS dagger and let me know your opinion.
I wondered about the "B" on the crossguard. It´s not often to see but it is well known on late chained SS daggers

I´m not collecting such daggers, but, many yrs. ago I received an M36, schowin´the Gebietsgruppenstempel Wm, (Westmark), marked upon the lower Knebel.

The blade of my dagger was heavilly greased, but, due to this, it was preserved perfectly !
It´s a pitty, that the blade of your dagger is badly slurred ...

These Groups marks are sometimes seen on this vintage.
I rather would check the wooden handle,because It appears like a repainted SA grip.

It is not made of Ebenholz. It is another kind of wood black painted. I have seen some other autentic black grips on ss daggers with this kind ofvwood and it is usual that the black paint is getting lost by using the grip. So you can see some places with the natural colour of wood

It's the so-called Type II daggers in nickel plated steel with zinc cross guards that are the late ones. As for the dagger here, besides what has been mentioned, the grip is noticeably broken/busted up in places. And the cross guard to mouthpiece fit on one side appears to be lacking. But makes me wonder what else has been going on is that it looks to have some extensive sharpening on the blade? And grind marks on the faces of some of the links?? FP
