Japanese Sword
A friend of mine has this Sword but does not know what it is. Could somebody tell me what this is and what the value might be? Thank you for your help! Jurgen

Even though it does not have a swastika it is still interesting. Anybody have any input? Thank you for your help. Jurgen

It is a Samurai sword. The blade appears to have a temper line on it which could make it a hand made or an early machine produced sword. Is the Kanshi mark you show on the tang? On these swords the blade and the Tsuba (hand guard) are the most important parts of these swords. I am not the right person to get much into this. Hopefully someone else can jump in on it as well.
