    Mini 1st Model Luftwaffe

I think this is a mini-1st model... but it's not like what I would expect to see nor does it look like this typical one in this thread: HERE But also produced by Horster.

Would love some comments and thoughts on it... It just seems 'thicker' and doesn't have a middle bracket on the scabbard... perhaps this came out when the aluminum ones were produced?

IMO this is a "Frankenstein dagger" ....blade and scabbard come from NSFK knife and the rest is from 1 model LW dagger....Or? Wait what experts will say...

My first thoughts. But didn't think horster made NSFK - but I'm not farmiliar with them - I do know they made LW daggers. The blade has not been shortened though, so I would imagine this is the case

Thanks very much for the response!

I agree with Dedman, Frankenstein piece. The metals of the guard and pommel do not match the metals of the scabbard. Colors are completely different. I'm not convinced the blade is NSFK either. Are there signs of grinding/alteration of the blade?

There is no grinding that I can see.

There is a very small gap where the blade and cross-guard come together, obviously because they don't belong together.

              Thanks again for the confirmations!

Right after the war these types of hodge-podge parts pieces were assembled from whatever available factory left over parts and sold to souvenir hungry vets.
It's a mixture of different parts as mentioned previously.

                  Pass.

I would pass on this mish mash. Sorry.
