In this case we have a dagger with a rusty blade and a broken handle, and a typical war story thats not very original. Cutting human tissue requires a sharp blade, so how did grandpa get the time to sharpen the blade? Or did he ask the guard for a knife sharpener?

I love how the story points out there is "old blood on the blade".

Then when he tells why the price is low it's because of "water damage" to the blade.

      Ooops!

To me it's even funnier because you can look at the blade in it's present state and see it appears to have never been sharpened.

Boy, what some guys wouldn't do to get their hands on a statue of Hitler. Of course, the General and his staff were having beer and knackwurst in some frontline dwelling without a guard at the door while an enemy assault was in progress. Wunderbar!!! And now the son is selling the object acquired in this act of extreme bravery on craigslist. What some people wouldn't do for money.
