Lets see some Red Cross and Rads!

Under Hitlers direction, the German branch of the Red Cross [Deutsches Rotes Kreuz (DRK)] was separated into two distinct branches.
The Red Cross (DRK); concerned with medicine, first-aid and nursing
The Social Welfare; concerned with the welfare of children, the homeless and the elderly.
The Officers Daggers of both branches were identical except for the Hangers, and the holes on the scabbards for the Hangers.
The Red Cross (DRK) Officers Dagger scabbard had square slotted holes, while the Social Welfare Officers Dagger had round holes.
These Daggers were introduced in 1938, but discontinued in 1940, although they were worn until the end of the War.
