This actually has to do with an US Navy Sword, Model 1852, but I believe the blade is German made. The mark about which I have a question is a six pointed star. I saw this mark once on a USMC sword I had, which was also marked "Germany", so I was wondering if one of you would know the manufacturer, and perhaps even when they made blades with this mark. I've attached a rather poor picture of the mark. I apologize, but my camera doesn't take good close-ups.
