    Gebruder Heller 1939 K98 Bayonet/Frog/Scabbard.. unmarked scabbard?

Bought this off ebay.. bad pics on the auction but everything seems OK.
There are many WaA marks (#37) on most parts and the flashguard and release latch are marked with the last digits of the serial number.
the grips are marked with a different digit but are proofed #37 as well so I would assume they are original.
The frog is marked but I can't quite decipher it. (maybe "STEINER"??) The scabbard appears unmarked.. which I thought they were normally marked?
Is this paint on the scabbard original? If not maybe it's marked underneath?

    Thanks for any info..

    thanks in advance!

Your scabbard is from a German 84/98nA , the WWI incarnation of the K98 bayonet. They weren't maker marked or serialized. Hard to make out the frog's manufacturer but it might be by Stelzer / Berlin.

Probably paired together sometime during the war. Scabbards were fungible items.

The scabbard is not serialed to the SG84/98 so there is small possibility it was so from war, the scabbard was produced matched with the bayonet. The frog could be Stecher, Freiberg.
