Twin Haenel SA's Cosmoline Coated - Straight From Vet Family - Real Out of Woodwook

Got these a few days back from 2nd ID Vet Family and thought I would show what some daggers look like when they come "out of the woodwork". Not cleaned or buffed up. These are exactly as I got them. Twin Haenel SA's with 100% burnishing underneath a coating of drying/dried Cosmoline. The scabbards are top with nearly all the lacquer & anondizing. Original 3 piece hangers.

Haenel has about the best quality, wood and crossguard fit I have seen in daggers. Oh yes, there was a Helbig DLV Flyer's Knife. Other than the scuff to the grip, very nice condition. Should have seen the looks we got in Starbucks when I was inspecting them!

Yes, the seller's knew what they had and researched them well, so I paid what they were worth The son told me his father said very little about his wartime experience, but recalls him saying they were picked up in Czechoslovakia.

Very nice, one can imagine the vet plucking them from some smashed store window....very rare to get two of the same maker together like that. I've always wanted a Haenel myself.
Public place? inside? never done that myself, I stay in parking lots for the most part away from prying eyes...also-people should mind their own damn business!

Nope, was funny watching people reading books pretending not to be looking. Both "Sa" Sachsen marked which is common for Haenel.

Here are a couple close ups.

                    Thanks for the comments.

Wags - Problem when I bring a nice SA or SS dagger to MAX is I trade it in on some other toy that I can't afford. See you there

Mac 66 - Unfortunately to preserve the blade I will have to wipe off the Cosmoline as it can trap moisture or stain the blade.
