Please help me identify this bayonet

I have a bayonet, and I am not quite sure what it is. I was hoping I could get some more info from the collective wisdom in this forum. Thanks in advance for your help.

You have a nice German sawback dress bayonet made by WKC (Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Co). Nice early maker mark.

In 1883 Weyersberg, Kirchbaum an Co united using both trade marks, in 1909 only the Knights Head was used the Kings Head was discontinued.

Hello,

this is an "Extra-Seitengewehr 98". A privat purchased Bayonet / Dress Bayonet ONLY for walking out reasons. No allowed to wear in service.

At 1915 the german officers became order to use this kind of Sidearm instead Degen or Säbel (Order ot the different German Kriegsministerien No: 75983, 20.08.1915)

So this is produced since 1915 in the first world war.

I don't think 1909 is a hard cut-off date. Some WWI era trench knives, for example, are marked with both heads.

WKC used the double Logo and the "knight head" parallel since 1883.
