Looking at this SS Dagger tomorrow to purchase along with many other items. I examined this one in person but at the time I had looked at 30 or so other daggers and my eyes began to glaze over. Looking again at the pictures I noticed the lack of details on the eagle. What do you think replacement eagle? worn? weak stamping? Put together dagger? other? Looks like the scabbard has also been re painted. thanks again.

This dagger makes strange impression. I can accept the soft lines of the grip, since I have one 120/34 with such soft lines in my collection, but the SS roundel is very atypical. Doesn't look like any of the fakes I know, but doesn't look like any of the originals either. Such worn out eagle on nearly perfect grip?
Hard to judge how deep is the motto from the pics, but I must agree with Craig, it looks shallow and that "satin" blade finish is bit dodgy as well. It would be very helpfull to see the logo at the reverse. I wonder if there is Roman numeral at the crossguard (not a must, as some early ones made by certain makers don't have it).
