VC winners fighting knife

Hi,
Had to share with you all my lastest fighting knife,pherhaps this is not the correct section but if not will a moderator please move it.
This fighting knife was returned by VC winner LC James R. Welch and was taken during the action that he was awarded the VC for in which he took on a number of German troops in hand to hand combat with a empty revolver it was taken from one of the soldiers that he killed at Oppy on the 29th April 1917,it was given to me along with some photo's and paper work by his only serviving daughter,his medals were sold by her approx 20 years ago and now reside in a regimental museaum near Saisbury. He survived through numerous encounters and was injured several times, he served in both wars ,even serving with the RAF during WW2 and died in his daughters arms at the great age of 89.

She sold it for £9000 at auction in London as she and her brother needed the money?
I know theres not a lot of interest on the forum in British awards but the VC is the ultimate award even imo more so than the Kc,but the knife is in our line of interest,i wonder if the German soldier's name that he fought for his VC was recorded ,they were BOTH very brave men doing there duty and it could have so easily gone the other way ,
Brave men do not go looking for medals.
I will preserve the knife for future generations so that they can see what they went through.
Is this maker common or not.

The VC is an incredibly important award, and I know that all American members of the forum hold it in deep respect, as they would our American MOH.

They don't hand those out just for "showing up."
