Nice one David, as for price you've got me...it all looks period to me though.

Wittman has an RLB 2 Leader for sale at $3,500. The hangers would sell for an additional $1,000 on his site as well.

So, we have a dealer price of $4,500.

E-stand would be at a discount to that, but add in the value of a really nice looking blade,... ???

inimicus: are you sure the hilt fittings are aluminum and not zinc diecast? I have an RLB EM dagger with zinc hilt fittings and nickel silver scabbard fittings. This combination is not exactly common but it does happen.

IMO your set is original and a nice one to boot.

thanks cog: ya got me. did the factory polish and maybe also lacquer zinc fittings? looks like alu to me but I'm no metallurgist... also what weighs more zinc or alu? zinc I think. I guess I cd. undo the pommel and guard but that might not be prudent....

Aluminum is much lighter than zinc. Zinc fittings were usually polished, nickel plated and possibly laquered.

so, zinc or alu, bit unusual but not a problem mixed with the other nickel fittings? thanks again mate.
