Hi guys,
I thought I'd share pics of this not so common dress bayonet. It's near mint and still has (original?) lacquer on the grips. It's unusual in that it has a Wilhelm cypher with the date on the spine just like an issued combat bayonet. There are a few other marks on the bayonet as well. The scabbard has a blued finish and doesn't look like it was ever worn with a frog. It doesn't have any marks and only has only one runner. Only one side of the blade shows runner marks, and the throat piece looks like it never had a runner on one side, or at least not for long. Has anyone seen another dress Horster with a cypher and date on the spine? I'm wondering if it came from the factory this way or was done as a custom job. Comments welcome... cheers.
