    Army officers sword pic-up

    Picked this up today, my first officers dovetail.
    First off, does everything look ok on it? Early, mid,
    late manufacture? Marked Eickhorn, and Ges Gesch.
    Pretty good blade... The oakleaves "ferrel'?? above the eagle
    is a loose.

        Hi looks ok to me,going by the sword book its a Eichorn Nr 1693 "Wrangel",one of the 'Field Marschall' series.John

                  Beautiful sword and I'd say you did ok with the price...........
                  How come I never stumble on deals like that?
                  I have one Heer sword, also from the Eick Field Marshall series and I like to see the different variations. Mine is a different type than yours but just as nice.

                    I feel the same way when I see other members post their great finds, but I have had good luck also, not as good as others but still makes me feel all warm inside when things work out well. And thanks for the offer, I knew it was coming sooner or later... but I'll keep it.
