Perhaps someone can help with this questions:
I have seen a navy dagger with lightning scabbard, eickhorn blade (without etching) and a celluloid grip with wood inside. First unusual thing: the grip has no wire and looks like the typical grips of kaiserliche marine daggers. I know that these grips are normally made of ivory but this dagger looks very fine and everthing is matchig. Are eickhorn kriegsmarine daggers known with this kind of grip?
Second question: this dagger is lying in a big box/case made of wood with a black covering (similar to ek1 case) and everything looks old and matching. Scabbard, dagger and portepee are lying separately in this box.
Anybody know this kind of boxes for km daggers?Or do you have ever seen a standard km dagger in a box?
Thanks for your help
