    Ren Wax

    Gents,
The old question of what to use when cleaning blades appears every now and again. Previous replies have mentioned a product called Ren Wax (Renaissance Wax). I don't know how much y'all know about this product. It was mentioned on an earlier thread that it was used by the British Museum. I telephoned both the British Museum and Imperial War Museum and they both confirm that they use this product on their edged weapons. I then traced the product to a company in North London and purchased a tin (£10). The leaflet that arrived with the product stated that the museum would not use any product that would damage the equipment or could not be removed without damage should a better, improved product ever become available. Sounds good to me. In fact I cannot see any reason why it could not be used on medals and the like. The leaflet is about 300 words in total. I would be happy to copy this information onto a word document and if anyone would like a copy of this information, I would be happy to e-mail it to them.
    My e-mail address is h.davies4@ntlworld.com

I hope this is of assistance
