    Help with Lion Head Sword Dedication

    Hi Guys,
    Friend of mine emailed me, and would like some help with the translation and any other information available on this Lion Head Sword.
    Looks like maybe?...Count von Looz?
    But i might be wrong, so i will let the experts help

              That is a fine looking high quality sword.

              There certainly is a very old German aristocratic family named von Looz - I did a quick Google and they seem to go back to at least the 11th Century.

              The "s/l" indicates that the sword was a gift from von Looz to his friend.

              I can't remember or find the exact meaning of the "s/l" but it translates to dear friend.

              Hope that helps a little.

                      I believe s/l is short for seine leiben, usually used in the context of a gift from one friend to another.
